[Nubot Gateway] Poloniex @zoro (sell offset:0.25% , buy offset:5% ) - stand by

The top one is mine. I only see others at 1,500 in that range.

oh ok, 4 at 1,500 then?

the 1500-1530 orders are of the gateway.
and a 2970 order “far away”.
for example right now:

SELL 2970.030027 0.0025582
SELL 1529.969973 0.00212765
SELL 1500 0.00212347
BUY 1500 0.00206071
BUY 1529.969973 0.00205653
BUY 2970.03002644 0.00164188

it holds very nicely in this btc pump

@zoro, is your NuBot running properly?

This

doesn’t match the reported liquidity:

Fri May 27 09:50:23 UTC 2016
status of zoro dual side NuBot at Poloniex:
nud getliquidityinfo B | grep BJs4YbtaqCmxeHLiR6zzjnZEotYVFAPfMo -A 2
        "BJs4YbtaqCmxeHLiR6zzjnZEotYVFAPfMo" : {
            "buy" : 9315.91,
            "sell" : 11110.1155

Or is the spread of your NuBot to big to be caught by ALix?
Forgive me that I’m too lazy to look that up.
I’m kinda shocked by the ALix report…

This is always the case.
Gateways and ALix are not “compatible” :stuck_out_tongue:

I hoped so.
Good to see that there are over $9,000 on the buy side to support the peg on your gateway alone. I don’t know about @Cybnate’s, but there might be some more.
Just imagine Nu had to rely on operations at a very tight spread that can get emptied in the blink of an eye if BTC starts to go haywire.
An increased offset is not after the fancy of the traders. They refrain from trading.
That way the gateways can support the peg longer than T1.1 can.
As long as they have funds (on the order book), the exchange rate can’t get beyond their spread.
The quality of the peg is of course perceived as worse than with funds on T1.1 available, but better have orders at an increased spread than no orders at all!
It’s still working, because it’s economically sound.

Around 6,500 on sell side this afternoon. But only sold 2,000 in the middle of the ‘panic’ a few hours ago and they have been sold back by now. So all on sell side. But Nagalim will balance my Pybot. Pybot is at 1.4% spread so within Alix’s limits.[quote=“masterOfDisaster, post:245, topic:3480”]

Very true. It has again been proven a few hours ago.

That’s why I’m arguing for supporting liquidity at an increased spread (in addition to liquidity at a tight spread) since early this year when I learned that lesson the hard way

@zoro is there any buy orders up now? I can’t see the reported 9k liquidity

6000 as T1

SELL 2969.992383 0.00257334
SELL 1530.007617 0.00214024
SELL 1500 0.00213603
BUY 1500 0.00207291
BUY 1530.007617 0.0020687
BUY 2969.99238443 0.00165159

It’s basically just the 3k @zoro has at like 1.5% offset. There’s another 3k super far away and 3k I think off the books. I would really like @zoro to double the ones that matter to 6k.

This is being reported as T1, but it’s definitely not realistically usable liquidity. It should be reported as T2.

This is due to parametric order book.
I doubled the T1.

SELL 2969.984805 0.00257269
SELL 1530.015195 0.0021397
SELL 1500 0.00213549
BUY 3000 0.00207237
BUY 6168.00618496 0.00206816

This day was a hard one! I am reaching 12 hours online with small interruptions.
I will be here for 3-4 more hours. Please be alert to replenish nubot’s buy side if necessary.

Be glad that the spread of your NuBot is that high, you’d be even busier, if the spread were tighter - just as FLOT would be busier, but only as long as the reserve lasts
Oh, and be glad that except for the single price jump there was little volatility.

Wanna do that for ten days around the clock?
Reduce the spread, disable NuPool and say “welcome” to my world in January.

…Nu has learned nothing from it…
The current situation is only still under control BECAUSE of the increases spread!

How often do I need to tell it:
Nu needs orders at a tight spread AND orders at an increased spread to keep the peg and survive.

Spammity spam.

Clearly we aren’t aided much by an order at $0.01 though. I think 5% spread for T1.2 should be sufficient, and I’d like to see a maxwallsize of 10k for gateways. Like I’m trying to spell out in the spread motion.

At least this spam is neither meaningless nor dangerous
But you’re right.
I concede defeat.

I’m not fighting you, just trying to quantify what you’re saying.

Just changed buy offset at 0.02 and sell offset at 0.01

Order type Quantity (NBT) Price
SELL 2969.9654745 0.00242713
SELL 1530.0345255 0.00201862
SELL 1500 0.00201463
BUY 3000 0.00195087
BUY 61.06422479 0.00194688

6 BTC are left and counting!

Very good to make the spread asymmetric!
I was about to recommend that when I found this post.
The lower sell side offset allows you to grab some BTC during price swings.
That’s exactly what I had to do in January.
Did you remember that or come to this conclusion by yourself?

Anyway, for that reason, you should lower the sell side offset even further.

Suggested settings:
buy side offset: between 0.025 and 0.03
sell side offset: between 0.0045 and 0.007

I followed your suggestion:
0.025 and 0.0045
situation is still dire but the peg is fine
