ODROID-C2 at $40 with 2 GB RAM – alternative to Raspberry Pi

While Raspberry Pi 3 was just released, it still only has 1 GB RAM, which seems to have been borderline insufficient for certain uses around here.

It probably doesn’t have as large community and wide support as RPi does, but it might be an alternative. Seems generally interesting for media centre usage (HEVC capable).

ODROID-C2

Website.

  • Amlogic ARM® Cortex®-A53 (ARMv8) 2 GHz quad-core CPU.
  • 2 GB DDR3 SDRAM.
  • Runs Ubuntu 16.04 or Android 5.1 Lollipop based on Linux 3.14 LTS.

Sounds amazing!
I might try that, because the 1 GB RAM on my RaPi2 is really not that great.

Just get a 200$ 4GB laptop and put all your nubots inside

Yep. I have a refurb laptop at home. Put 12 GB of ram in it. Runs lid closed 24/7.
