[Passed] Reimbursing shareholder

Hi, @jooize!
I have read on this forum your ad that the new Fork blocked stolen tokens. I don’t understand one, do hacker so lazy that can not mix tokens through the Exchange and wallets? after all, you are going to block address. why he did not translate tokens on the other?

@Nagalim after this procedure, my coins bought on the exchange, do not evaporate:)?

What happened on the Nu blockchain is that wallets with NuShares were compromised. Thiefs didn’t empty the balances entirely, presumably (though unconfirmed to me) because of the shares having recently been voted with and therefore temporarily locked from transfer (as is protocol). Nu shareholders made a release to block the remaining shares from being transferred, making the funds unspendable. Thief did most likely transfer the funds they did get their hands on to exchanges to trade for other assets.

The grant in this thread is for restoring the entire original wallet balance to the owner.

@Nagalim: That is with B&C Exchange. There is no planned fork in Nu. Please correct your post to avoid confusion.

@Mr.Crowly: There is no need to worry about either NuBits or NuShares.

@jooize, why did you ask for the legitimate questions if you were just going to ignore them?

Can we (those of us not named Phoenix) expect the same lack of communication from you at your new post in Canada, @jooize?

Feel free to respond as well, @Phoenix. I was tagging @jooize because he solicited the questions.

I understand that @Phoenix managed to get compensation for the loss of funds … I also lost my coins(89189.56 NSR) on the Poloniex exchange (there is no way to withdraw). Maybe I too will be able to get a grand for a corresponding number of coins?

@Phoenix received just over 224 million NSR. @Bubleek I think you have good chances to get your roughly 89k back. Although @Phoenix frequently says that this network is about economics and not about socialism, the reimbursement of 224 million NSR was an extremely social act by the network. I can’t see why you shouldn’t get reimbursed for the pennies you lost.

Thank you @MaVo! I think that here nobody cares how much I have lost and why. Well, by itself, no one is going to return anything to me. Sadly …

Hi Bubleek,

I wouldn’t say that nobody cares about your NuShares, it is a huge shame that Poloniex are still not allowing withdrawals. I would say though that the fault does seem to lie with Poloniex as they hold the funds.
Whatever is thought about the NuShares returned to Phoenix the method by which they were awarded was through a public motion which was voted on by NuShare holders and passed on the Nu blockchain. That is the mechanism by which decisions are made and supported in the Nu Network. If you feel you have a good case to be awarded NuShares that have been lost I would invite you to create a motion and put it up for voting by Shareholders in the same manner.
What is the current status with Poloniex? Have they simply ignored all your support requests or have they said that they won’t allow you to withdraw?

I have not removed more than 20000000 nsr coins in poloniex, what should I do?

Hi @woolly_sammoth

I agree. Most of the blame lies on the Poloniex exchange. But all the same, the blockchain and network are under control of the NU team. Therefore, they can solve the issue of withdrawal funds in any way.

I do not know how I can do this.

I just try sent my coins from Poloniex to SouthXchange, but the Poloniex exchange did not launch a transaction on the network. The status of the transaction is still Pending. And I can not understand why the wallet SaUP1ZyURMY66LNsXZ3qpc9Tgj8urwMDLo, created on the SouthXchange exchange, does not appear in the blockchain NU network.

The Blockchain and network are under the control of the Nu team but your funds are held by Poloniex currently. It sounds like @jooize is continuing to contact Poloniex to try and get them to activate their Nu wallet and allow their customers to withdraw their NuShares. Unfortunately Poloniex is a private company dealing with many many Crypto-Currencies. Nu is only a small part of that so the pressure we can put on them is equally small. The Nu team is offering Poloniex support and financial incentives. Beyond that all we can do is wait for Poloniex to activate their wallet.

If you feel that you would like to ask NuShare holders to award you NuShares to replace the ones at Poloniex you need to create a post on the forum detailing the amount of NuShares that should be granted, the address they should be paid to and the details of the grant. There are lots of examples here: https://discuss.nubits.com/c/nushares/custodial-grant-proposal.
Once the grant proposal is in place NuShareholders will have the opportunity to vote for the grant. If it passes the amount of NuShares will be created at the address you specify.
I will say again though that the pressure for resolving this should be directed at Poloniex. Of course you are free to create a grant proposal but NuShare holders are also free to not vote for it. Creating a grant proposal is not a guarantee that you will get NuShares from Nu.

It seems that the Poloniex wallet is not active which would explain why the transaction request is still pending. My advice would be to create a support ticket with Poloniex to see if they can give information about that transaction. It also explains why your SouthXchange address doesn’t appear in the Block Explorer. It won’t do until it has received coins in a transaction.

Well, I’ll wait a few days. Maybe Poloniex will perform the trasaction to the network and coins will come to my wallet. If not, then there will be no other way on my part except to open a grant and start voting for my problem.
Thanks @woolly_sammoth for your help.

After waiting for several days, the requested funds were not received. I had to open a grant because I did not find any other ways to recover funds.

This thread is pure insanity. @phoenix launches a motion and it gets passed. No serious questions answered. It just gets passed. Whether @Cybnate votes for it or not doesn’t matter. Whether @lissajous likes it or not doesn’t matter. Whether @woolly_sammoth thinks it’s correct or not doesn’t matter. No need to mention @jooize here specifically.

Why do the same not help the insane in you view of the world?
You are advocating to help the small shareholder and with your self confessed strong Poloniex connection you have a real chance to help the little man and be part of a revolution. Or are you stirring again? Only the insane do that, don’t they?

I don’t get your point. If someone is able to quickly blackball some addresses, launch a motion and get a quarter billion newly printed NSR into his account, why should that not work for people with pennies? Why is that? What is Nu in your eyes? How much does it resemble the real world and in which aspects would you like it to make a difference? @jooize asks @ConfusedObserver for help. You ask me for help. You poor little faggots. And when small people come and ask for your help, you are not strong enough and miss the integrity to do so. You hide behind a POS system and you argue you didn’t vote for @Phoenix grant. But what about your voice? Is it gone since POS exists? Same counts for @woolly_sammoth. These small shareholders would like their NSR released. Go @woolly_sammoth and build a new client, blackball the addresses and support their motion. Instead you ignore them and ask them to do what they have been trying for months. Thanks @woolly_sammoth, these people should feel better now right, since they got genuine advice from you. It’s not fair. And now you will attack me with economic principles and that the world is not fair. @Phoenix argued that the network is still small enough to push such decisions through while later on it won’t be as easy. The network is still small in terms of shareholders with most likely @Phoenix alone holding the voting majority. Why not help these small fishes the same way as long as it is possible? Because they don’t matter. @Cybnate what do you do in your real life to help those who are weaker than you? You will ask me the same question and I will remain silent about it, but I know that I can afford to ask that question. I feel you can’t afford the answer.

Remember that time Nu broke immutability and thought it wouldnt open the floodgates?
