[Passed] Motion to Make the Nu Source Code Available

That’s a very strong show of support for open-source, considering there are likely still users who are not configuring their votes. Great to see!

So what purpose did CCEDK have in fraudulent open source voting? Should we be worried about this?

It’s unclear at this point if it was a manual configuration error or an action with malicious intent. As I understand it, funds were requested to be withdrawn from CCEDK as a precautionary measure in the event the duplicate open-source voting was intentional.

As far as open-source goes though, we’re lucky that shareholders voted over 70% in favor of it even after the duplicates were removed. There’s no controversy that the majority of shareholders are in favor of it.

I think the title should be edited mentioning [PASSED]

The passed motion mandates a new release with changes to the license and a version of 1.0. The security audit of the source code that was just completed led the team to make a number of minor code changes that won’t effect the user experience or protocol in normal situations. We are in the final stages of testing this release and expect to release it as a mandatory upgrade (no beta) in a matter of days. Once it is clear most nodes have upgraded, we will open the source code.

ahm … v0.5.2-RC3-17-g8d067bb-beta ? I don’t even have a datafeed button in the qt.

EDIT: it also says 0.5.2 in the project file so I guess this is the wrong commit. Anyway, thanks for publishing it. Can you make a mirror to github?

OK, I think you just missed to update the master. Again, thanks so much for publishing the code.

Whoever wants to compile it now, please switch to the correct branch first:

git fetch && git checkout 1.0.1-Stable-Release

EDIT: Not sure if anyone else but me will have this problem, but my version of libcurl4-openssl-dev did not work during linking and I had to switch to libcurl4-gnutls-dev. Linux Mint Qiana.

New, unreleased code changes for 2.0 (formerly known as 0.6.0) are here:

Nice one. Anyone already found a good Easter egg? Well, maybe wait till Easter

I’ve updated www.nubits.com/about/source-code, posted to Twitter and Facebook, and posted to /r/Cryptocurrency and /r/NuBits!

Here is the /r/cryptocurrency thread…

Unfortunately, I decided to wait until after work to buy more NuShares. Big mistake! Now with the rising price I’m not going to be able to purchase as many as I wanted to. :frowning:

I merged 1.0.1-Stable-Release into master.

On which market and what’s your strategy to acquire these NSR?
What was your desired amount?

Poloniex, first time I used the exchange actually. I just got paid today, so I bought some Bitcoin and traded it with NuShares. Earlier in the day I could have bought around 150,000 shares, but since I didn’t get around to it until after the source code released, I only ended up getting around 137,000 shares in total.

Quick question. How come when I look up my NuShares address in the NuExplorer, the final balance isn’t correct? I have my shares split into 2 addresses and the final balance of both add up to the amount of reward I’ve earned from minting in total, but it doesn’t show the rest.

Actually, now that I check the first address again, it has changed to show the shares I just bought and withdrew to my wallet, but still that’s a fraction of what is actually in my wallet. Is it a bug?

DId you just fill up whatever sell order there were our there with a decent volume or did you place some buy orders that got filled?
Perhaps placing some low buy orders at around 0.0030 will get you some decent stash in a reasonable amount of time…
