[Mandatory Upgrade] All minters need to upgrade to B&C Exchange 4.0.1

Some might have setup a rig so that they can start minting and forget.

So first you invest money into a ā€œstart-upā€, then take the time, effort and cost to set up a 24/7 minting rig and after that not even bother to check if everything is running smoothly every now and then? I have a hard time understanding that line of thought.

Maybe itā€™s sabotage? Somebody posted this in the Bitcointalk threadā€¦

How much is the cost of 50-60% of BKS?
Can a millionaire just set up a vps running v2.0 and forget about it because he/she may have some other businesses
to attend to?

Iā€™ll create a draft for an extreme measure to get a discussion started.
Stay tuned.

I can understand it not increasing, but why is it decreasing so much all of a sudden?

Perhaps @Ronny can clarify if CCEDK has upgraded to version 4.0, as I havenā€™t seen public confirmation yet. Ronny has been very attentive to our community in the past and Iā€™m sure he will be glad to confirm his support of the latest version of B&C Exchange.

We know CCEDK usually mint with their clients, so if they were on version 2.0 or 3.0, any BKS sent to CCEDK to sell would be blocking the protocol upgrade.

Isnā€™t B&C a direct competitor to CCEDK? Are we so sure he supports it?

I hope @Ronny does support it and will choose to vocalize his position soon.

However, until he publicly confirms that CCEDK is using version 4.0.1, all BlockShares should be removed from the exchange to ensure that the latest protocol is supported. And, itā€™s just good practice to not hold cryptoassets on centralized exchanges.

They might put their BKS on an exchange which mints but doesnā€™t vote. They might even put their shares as collateral somewhere  Hey, if your Nusafe BKS were voting now, assume they are not, they would give a 10 percentage points boost to 4.0 voting results because only 38% of all BKS are minting.

I wonder how much BKS is actually on an exchange account though, seeing as thereā€™s only 1 exchange and its fairly small.

It is an disadvantage of Nusafe that I canā€™t use the shares for voting/minting, I am however minting with the rest of them on 4.01 even though I normally donā€™t mint

I see your message @tomjoad and I do apologize if I have not mentioned here anywhere that I have already upgraded. I did immediately when information was out, well i see april 7th, as I know the importance of this.

I would like to point out to anyone thinking I would have any reason to sabotage anything, that I have learned my lesson well, by doing things not knowing enough about in terms of voting at earlier incident in Nubits client, so I have basically left you guys do whatever you needed to do without any involvement whatsoever.

In another point if I am minting it is only because I have the client open. I am sure you must have noticed that I do not have this open every day but only when people need to withdraw. So even minting you cannot pin on me I do to have some kind of leverage, as I really just try to do you guys a service, and if unhappy I suggest you all withdraw and let me deal with users acrtually appreciating the work I do.

There is no way I could be a competitor to a project not even launched yet in full, and once launched anyone deeply involved in marketing and sales will know that no project prosper with no competitors, so once B&Cexchange is up and running I welcome it and hope it will succeed. It will for sure not be anything I do to achieve the opposite.

I believe in what I do and I have repeatedly offered to promote BKS on other exchange as well, but realize too much suspicion involved.

Cant believe I was thinking of adding NBT and BKS to CoinsBank, but I guess thats really no interest of yours when you have BCexchange out there able to conquer the world all by itself.

Yours sincerely

I donā€™t think thereā€™s any suspicion Ronny. Weā€™re just isolating potential factors that may contribute to our low upgrade rate. Now that we know CCEDK is using version 4.0, we can continue to think of alternative explanations. Thank you for your prompt response.

My pleasure as always I try to do the best service although fully loaded with work.

And as mentioned it has been updated since april 7th on both clients I am running.

  1. Most Ver2.0/3.0 shareholders are innocent, I think they have not be informed that 3.0->4.0 is an emergency mandatory upgrade. Have they recieved the email/Bitmessage from dev team? How frequently they check those? I guess they think 3.0->4.0 is something like 2.0->3.0.

How long does it cost from 2.0 to 3.0? Two months?

It is our fault not providing effective information tunnel to them.

BTW, there was a big BKS holder told me in QQ that he just realized the version 4.0 upgrade and let me inform him in futureā€™s upgrade because I am active in this forum, and his english not good. 2 days ago, he told me his windows minting machine is broken(hard drive not working), so he has to mint with his Macbook before a new harddrive delivered and repair the windows desktop. He said the ratio is around 50% so even he stops mint during this period the protocol switch cannot accomplish.

I guess the V4.0 ratio will drop within several days, as you shown. Unless the Mac OS version released today.

  1. If majority BKS holders choose to suicide, the best way is fork a new crypo with our dev team by exchanging B&C to new crypto on 1:1 basis, rather than to dilute their wealth.

  2. The least responsible holders are not those V3.0 miners, but those cold storage without mint at all. See the wealthiest addresses with only one or several transactions. I guess only half holders are minting.

Release the Mac version immediately and Iā€™ll tell that big holder.

Please, upgrade B&C Explorer daemon. I see it as /Siglee:3.0.0/B&C Exchange:3.0.0(v3.0.0-RC2-beta)/ in connected nodes to my client.

Is it possible to add a table of all past and present connected nodes with their IP and client version to B&C Explorer as in NuExplorer.

@Ben , @JetJet13

I agreed with what Sabreiib said, some holders are not aware of it. Plus, it seems that it is not clear from the start that shareholders have a active role to play, not just hodling on, but keep calm and mint on (with a datafeed).

IIMHO minting should be done 24/7 on a separate machine for the sole purpose of minting to keep it safe. This leads to the conclusion that the website should include a page describing how to download a raspberry pi version including to install and run it.

That said, an BCbox is clearly needed in the long run.
