I have to know the details. Jordan’s idea of extracting value from NSR as if there is no tomorrow may scare most investors away permanently. We have been discussing gradually closing the spread using existing T4 and NSR sales. Since there seems to be an agreement that on-off tight peg is still very effective, we can for example

1. use limited fund to deploy from 5% to <=1% SAF, for example at 1%, 2.5%, 5% simultaneously or sequentially from high to low
2. observe how fast it is broken,
3. commit most of our T1 fund to where the selling stops
4. replenish T1 with existing T4 and NSR sales, the amount is limited, approximately equal to that lost in the first 2 steps
5. do step 1 again after some interval or trigger
6. until the spread is not broken again.

Isn’t this a better path ?

So the near-term plan derived from the mid-term plan is placing 2btc @ 1%, 2 @ 2.5%, 2 @ 5% at the three gateways and watch. To do it sequentially only if a gate op agrees to as it’s work.

She can wait the 5th member to sign to act so she is authorized all the time but she has to sleep. So I suggest she either refuse this altogether or set to 5%. Hard choices. The 5% is only for safe keeping the fund. I hope we can have a short term plan by the time the 5th signers signs so we tell the ops what to do so the 5% will have changed to whatever by the time fund arrives and is never used. If we can’t tell what to do, leave the fund ready to deploy is better than have 0.

OK before the next signer signs we should make a choice what to do next because after the 4th signs, the 5th might sign any unsigned tx w/o reading all the posts, then both tx’s will be signed.

1: do we want to send different amount or to different addresses? if yes, edit signed post to stop the 4th signer; if no go on 2
2: who to send to ? @Cybnate will be online in 2 hrs. @masterOfDisaster unknown. So the chioce now is @Cybnate
3: what spread? There are 2.1 btc under cutting the peg*0.993 price. So if 5btc is sent to @Cybnate, her gateway only need to be set to 1% SAF to regain the peg. We can observe how fast it disappears. It’s a little too much for experimenting purposes but since the community seem to accept the value of a part-time-on peg, this will be an on-peg for however short time. So i can live w/ it.
4. what spread for @zoro? 5% used to be the safe line. not sure now after the line is breached. i say we keep it 5%.

My counter question:

My calculation shows that T4 reserve decreases at 90btc/week during past btc price rises. That is about 13 btc a day. Our 35 btc reserve can last about 3 days, possibly less due to pent up demand now. Then we will be out of btc for any possible gradual spread reduction ops, unless nsr sales bring enough btc home. Do we want to do that?

Pretend we now have zero buy-side funds. We’d sell NuShares to refill liquidity say every day. Your strategy is doing essentially that, and gives time to establish NuShare sale workflow.

Sounds like a reasonable approach. I approve the idea until I recognise a better one.

@JordanLee: Is this worse than pushing all liquidity at once? Your input is valuable regardless whether most agree with it or not.

It’s either doing this or 90–100% (up for debate) of liquidity to NuLagoon Tube or a 1%-spread gateway in my opinion. Did someone object to using NLT?
