Export Peercoin keys and Votes

Hello everyone. I am new to NuShares and NuBits and I have a few questions. First of all when I am about to export peercoin keys I get this message

All your NuShares private keys will be converted to Peercoin private keys and imported into your Peercoin wallet.

The Peercoin wallet must be running, unlocked (if it was encrypted) and accept RPC commands.

This process may take several minutes because Peercoin will scan the blockchain for transactions on all the imported keys.

And then I get Error: couldn’t connect to Peercoin RPC server. First of all what does the export button do? Will I get the ‘2%’ interest rate in Peercoins instead of Nushares? What is its function and if it useful how do I overcome the problem above?

Then I would like to know how do I park my Nubits and how do I vote if I have more than 10000 Nushares. Thanks a lot for your time in advance.

It sounds like you need to create conf files with the server=1 settings.

The purpose of exporting the keys to Peercoin is so you can receive dividends when they are sent out. Dividends are sent out in the form of Peercoins, and they are sent to your Peercoin wallet. You must export the keys in order to receive them.
