Current Liquidity

not really a rally since increase was-is very slow. each day you can’t be sure if it is the "last day"
and if you should buy btc or nbt.
a risk ether way for hardcore players

Hi @zoro

The current total liquidity in the Nu network is:

Bid: 74539.1312 NBT
Ask: 96049.7965 NBT

It is broken down in the following manner:

Tier 1:
    Bid: 50850.1067 NBT
    Ask: 39950.1809 NBT

Tier 2:
    Bid: 7545.12 NBT
    Ask: 3620.888 NBT

Tier 3:
    Bid: 30509.352 NBT
    Ask: 23975.0 NBT

very strange. my wallet shows the opposite!
buy:96k
sell:68k

{“blocks”:591841,“total_buy”:97294.4195,“total_sell”:63522.482,

thanks!
it seems assistant has the sum wrong. the “broken down” values show overall bid>ask

@assistant liquidity

Hi @JordanLee

The current total liquidity in the Nu network is:

Bid: 76988.9551 NBT
Ask: 119239.4952 NBT

It is broken down in the following manner:

Tier 1:
    Bid: 73648.016 NBT
    Ask: 42463.0221 NBT

Tier 2:
    Bid: 7615.93 NBT
    Ask: 3620.888 NBT

Tier 3:
    Bid: 30509.352 NBT
    Ask: 23975.0 NBT

Only 39.2% of liquidity in tiers 1, 2 and 3 is on the sell side right now. Because that is beyond the 40% threshold, I will place NBT currently in tier 4 on the market until the two walls are balanced. Proceeds of the sale will stay in tier 4, but will flip to the buy side. The proceeds will enter the pool for share buybacks.

If you provide liquidity in the pools and can help bring new NBT to the market by buying NBT with BTC off exchange, please send me a Bitmessage at BM-2cXS5ezep1jUqeu8CwC6M4aTmMSxcFEHNN or contact me on gitter (JordanLeePeershares). The Poloniex market is particularly in need of a higher sell wall.

Just to make sure. There are not enough NBTs in the sell walls overall. That is why shareholders need to bring NBTs to markets and not BTCs (buying back power).
Right?

QT gives: Sell Side <= 40% Buy side,
https://raw.coinerella.com/?liquidity gives the the same.

Assistant gives the opposite if Bid means BUY and Ask ask means SELL. It needs to get fixed.

I’m sorry. The first sentence of my last post should read:

I think it’s just a result of transient market sentiment that BTC is reaching a critical price point and is going to see a correction soon. I wouldn’t want Tier 4 fund to closely follow market’s whims. Is there a way to get 7-day moving average of liquidity from data archive? That is a more robust measure. @desrever

If NSR/NBT were liquid it would have been a no-brainer to dump NBT on the buy wall and transfer value to NSR (dividends/buy-back), as that should actually reduce the exposure to risks associated with BTC volatility.

The 43k NBT gap is pretty large, it could be a good strategic decision to distribute dividends again at this point.

I would be interested in dividends this time.

By the way, “total_buy”:80855.78,“total_sell”:61940.5825 right now.

We think Nushare buyback is a better choice than dividends. The money is stored in the value of NSR, so it does not flow out of the Nu system.

There are pros and cons on either side. Again, if NSR were more liquid we would never have to worry which to choose. I have a feeling that NSR illiquidity is a concequence of the design choices on how we operate as a DAO etc.

We need to create a mechanism to make NSR liquid.
Market maker?
Unseeded auctions?

A tool that would enable you to convert automatically NSR/NBT in both directions would be awesome.
In fact since NSR guarantees the peg by burning, NSR price should be directly tied to the quantity of NBTs in circulation and its buy side liquidity, I feel.

I’m afraid not (yet) … Personally I do not have an historic archive of liquidityinfo … The software is already there tho, we should lobby @woolly_sammoth to either make it live again or distribute the source and instructions to deploy on raspberry so we can start record data.

10% is not enough
