Are there any deterministic wallets for desktop?

Has anyone created a deterministic electrum-style wallet for nubits yet for desktop OS’s? Could electrum be forked to read nubit blockchain instead of btc?

For mobile devices you could use https://coinomi.com/

I am not aware of anyone for desktop.

There is bkchain.org/peercoin which is electrum style. It is open source, so I believe a smart developer would be able to write a NuBits version. For the brave ones, here is the link:

Yes, I guess Electrum could be forked in order to support Nushares and Nubits.

BTW there are widespread support for Bitcoin and Litecoin already.

I enjoy Electrum because of its Simplified Payment Verification (SPV) approach. It’s so easy to use, create and manage your wallet and addresses, you just need to remember your passphrase (HD brainwallet?) or write it down (paper wallet?).

Sure it’s the best of both worlds…

There are SO MANY forks at Github, maybe someone’s already working in a Nubits version of it…

Thank you for the hint, but

seems to be difficult for PoS blockchains…

You’re right, I haven’t seen any PoS project using SPV lately…

But one thing is for sure: downloading all Nubits’ blockchain is still a pain in the ass…

Edit: maybe Coinomi is an considerable exception…

When 2.1.0 is released it will support bootstrap files. Which means people can download most of the blockchain through bittorrent, or high speed downloads. It should help alleviate the initial download pains a bit.
