If this number is too high, funds are used too quickly, resulting in poor pricing of NSR. If the figure is too low, then we keep more reserve than is ideal. There can be other factors as well that may be temporary in nature. The volatility of the NuBit currency supply has been excessive in recent months, and calls for a reduction in the multiplier, to ensure we have funds in the event of a sudden and sharp drop in NuBit circulating supply. In addition, in recent months there have been expected expenditures on contractors that funds should be preserved to pay for.
