Perhaps bitcoin and peercoin are 2 different ways to express a digital gold…
Right now the metaphors i use are the following: bitcoin is the digital gold, centralized or decentralized. peercoin is the commodity used to quantify the dividends given by networks, decentralized companies. I suppose that those decentralized companies use PoS as a way to secure their network for the most part since PoW is very expensive and not that sustainable if you use the bitcoin blockchain as a substrate…
Peercoin being the standard PoS commodity is used naturally as a back bone commodity for all those PoS-based companies.
